Cass Dotzel is a NYC-based artist and designer specializing in textiles, illustration, painting, and styling.
Born in Daegu, South Korea, and raised on the North Fork of Long Island, New York,
she draws on her diverse upbringing to tell unique visual stories.
Cass’s eclectic career spans classic car restoration as a plastic specialist, high-end leather goods design, textile and costume styling, and studio work in home and hospitality design—an ever-evolving pursuit of multidisciplinary mastery.
She studied textile design, costuming, and fashion theory at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and further explored screen printing and digital textile production at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. Her studies extended globally, from traditional textile methods in Rajasthan, India, to watercolor techniques in Hanoi, Vietnam, and a design placement at Linen House Australia.
Through these experiences, Cass has cultivated the ability to draw inspiration from a multitude of cultures, continuously adapting her craft. She holds a BFA in Textile/Surface Design with a minor in Fashion Theory from FIT and a prior business degree. Her early professional experience includes internships and several years at Flavor Paper in Brooklyn.
Today, Cass runs her full-service freelance studio, C. Dotz Design, alongside her boutique art brand, WAYF NYC, producing small-batch goods and apparel. Through both, she continues to explore third culture influences and the enduring question of identity.
